I began teaching remedial reading and math in a small K-8 school over 30 years ago.  After a few years break from teaching when my daughter was born, I came to Griffith Elementary and began teaching second grade students.  In following years, I taught third and fourth grade students.  I enjoyed the "regular" classroom, but jumped at the opportunity to go back to college and earn the necessary certification to teach Art to all K-4 students at Griffith.  I often included the fine arts in "regular" academic areas and knew that I could make connections to academic areas when teaching Art at Griffith.
