I came to Sequatchie County High School in 1997 with a deep science background Degree in Medical Technology MT(ASCP), obtained a highly qualified certification in Biology, and finally a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I currently teach Biology 1, Biology 2, and Anatomy and Physiology. My classroom is in the Stem Center room 45. I am the Team Leader in our Science Department at SCHS. Previously, I also coached girls basketball for 15 years, and started a Junior Pro basketball program for youth and operated it as community service for 12 years. My family are also graduates of SCHS. My husband, Allen Barker, is on the Board and part owner of the Gatlinburg Inn in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. My daughter Katherine has her Clinical Docterate in Physical Therapy and currently works in this field. Melanie, my other daughter,  has her Bachelor's Degree in Biology and is currently finishing up a BSN in Nursing.
