“Developing educated, responsible, independent, and productive citizens…”

Throughout its long history, SCHS has provided the best possible education to the youth of this county. Constructed in 1909, the first graduating class had only four students. Since that time, thousands of students have received diplomas and have gone on to contribute to the good of Sequatchie County, the state of Tennessee, and our country.

SCHS has approximately 600 students. SCHS, a SACS accredited school, maintains four up-to-date computer labs which contribute to our Business Communication classes, Credit Recovery, A+ Learning, the SCHS Yearbook and Newspaper, and allow teachers to use a lab when needed for classes. The school offers a marching band and a color guard. Sports offered are: baseball, basketball, bass fishing, cheerleading, cross country, football, golf, soccer, softball, tennis, track and field, volleyball, and wrestling. We have an active student incentive program where students are rewarded for making efforts toward their grades, attendance, and discipline.

Students at Sequatchie County High School have the opportunity for dual enrollment with Chattanooga State Technical Community College. We also offer clusters in seven Career Technical Education areas; Advanced Manufacturing, Agriculture, Architecture & Construction, Health Science, Law, Public Safety, Corrections, and Security, Marketing, Distribution, & Logistics, and Transportation.

We also have several active student clubs which are important to student life. They include Astronomy Club, Beta Club, Chess Club, FBLA, FCA, FCCLA, FFA, History Club, HOSA, Leo Lions Club, Student Advisory, Student Council, Writer's Circle, and Youth Leadership. Our seniors are active in planning their own Senior Trip, Junior/Senior Prom, and Senior Week where they are honored with a breakfast, Honors’ Night, Baccalaureate Program, culminating with Graduation on Friday night.

SCHS wants to ensure that all of our students have the opportunity to earn a high school diploma regardless of any limitations.
