Brave-O Award Recipients! - April 24th, 2026

Each week, SCMS recognizes students who go above and beyond in academics, attitude, and character with the Bravo-O Award. These students exemplify what it means to be a Bravo, showing dedication, kindness, and perseverance in everything they do. Join us in celebrating this week's outstanding recipients! (Name are listed from left to right / top to bottom in the photo)

Tristan Smith (5th Grade) - Nominated by Melissa Hendrick

Tristan comes to class each day prepared and ready to learn. He completes any task asked of him. He is respectful and kind to his peers and always strives to do his best. He doesn't give up when things get hard. Keep up the hard work and positive attitude. I look forward to hearing about all of his future achievements.

Maria Alacron (6th Grade) - Nominated by Grady Wilson

It is my distinct honor to nominate Maria Alarcon. In the classroom, her confidence, maturity, effort, and engagement have increased so much since the beginning of the year. She asks more questions and volunteers more often in whole group discussions. Maria is also a very hard working band student and is supremely talented playing multiple instruments! I am excited to see how she continues to grow in all the areas here at SCMS!

Chloe Hughes (7th Grade) - Nominated by Emily Faucett

I have been blessed with so many amazing 7th grade students this year, but as I choose my last Brave-O of the 25-26 school year, I am choosing a young lady who has impressed me all year long. This young lady constantly strives to do better than she did the time before. I have witnessed her confidence level blossom as she conquers complex ELA texts. She is a valuable contributor to class discussions and an excellent leader in her groups. She is a consistent and kind friend to all. If all of these qualities aren't enough, her work ethic is unmatched within her role on the Lady Braves basketball team and helping out on her family's farm. I am so incredibly proud to recognize the respectful and amazing Chloe Hughes as this week's 7th grade Brave-O! Keep on shining Chloe! I have no doubt that you will continue to be incredibly successful!

Konstantine Frizzell (8th Grade) - Nominated by Vivian Barker

My last Brave-O of this school year goes to a young man in my D-Block who always tries his best at all he does. If he is absent, he gets his work done in a timely manner and he continually meets the Brave Exceptions each and every day. He helps to get my room straight for the next day by sweeping, turning off electronics and putting up chairs. Thank you Konstantine for all you have done this year to make this year one of the best.

Jayden Gossett (8th Grade) - (Related Arts) Nominated by Pam Kelsey

This young man comes in every morning with a large smile ready to face his school day! He simply gets it right by coming into class ready to take on whatever the day brings his way. If you see him in the hallways he may leave you with the impression that he is quiet and shy, but let it be said this young man has a personality that packs a punch, but in the most fabulous way! Yes, my Brave-O, Jayden Gossett is an exceptional student, completing his assignments with an eagerness to learn and without complaint. Jayden is also exceptional in being a loyal friend to many and exceptional at being respectful to me and all the adults he encounters in our building. To see you, Jayden let your guard down and your BIG personality blossom has been a joy for myself, Mrs. Judi and Mrs. Lyndsey to witness! Congratulations Jayden! Keep being you. You so deserve this recognition.
