Brave-O Award Recipients! - May 1st, 2026

Each week, SCMS recognizes students who go above and beyond in academics, attitude, and character with the Bravo-O Award. These students exemplify what it means to be a Bravo, showing dedication, kindness, and perseverance in everything they do. Join us in celebrating this week's outstanding recipients! (Name are listed from left to right / top to bottom in the photo)

Lyla McMillen (5th Grade) - Nominated by Jenna Henry

I am happy to give my last Brave-O award winner of the year to Ms. Lyla McMillen. She starts everyday with a quiet smile. She is a prime example of what being respectful and responsible looks like as a Brave-O by using manners and putting forth her best efforts in learning. Lyla shows leadership qualities among her peers. She has made growth on her benchmark tests, as well as, achieved either Star or Honor Roll every 9 weeks so far. I am so proud she has survived her first year of middle school, and we are lucky to call her a friend!

Jackie Schreiber (6th Grade) - Nominated by Nikki Robbs

My Brave-O this week is Jackie Schreiber. She is the kind of student who leads without needing the spotlight. She shows up every single day  with a quiet determination, putting in the work and giving her very best no matter the task. Jackie's gentle and kind heart is evident in the way she treats others: with respect, patience, and genuine care. She doesn't seek recognition, but her character speaks volumes and never goes unnoticed.  Jackie truly represents what it means to be Sequatchie: hardworking, humble, and full of integrity.

Savannah Lee (7th Grade) - Nominated by Will Kiper

This week, I would like to nominate Savannah Lee as our 7th grade Brave-O. Savannah is such an unassuming student that it's easy for her to slip by unnoticed, but I see you Savannah! She is a hard-working, friendly, respectful student; everything a Brave-O should be. I'm proud to be her teacher and look forward to all she will accomplish.

Kensleigh Endicott (8th Grade) - Nominated by Angie Fugate

I have chosen Kensleigh Endicott as this week's 8th grade Brave-O. She is a bright light in my ELA classroom. Her smile and positive attitude is infectious to those around her. She is a talented writer and devoted band member. Kensleigh has been a joy to have in my classroom this year, and I will miss her next year. I look forward to seeing all that she accomplishes in her future endeavors. Go be great, Kensleigh!
