Brave-O Award Recipients! - May 22nd, 2026

Each week, SCMS recognizes students who go above and beyond in academics, attitude, and character with the Bravo-O Award. These students exemplify what it means to be a Bravo, showing dedication, kindness, and perseverance in everything they do. Join us in celebrating this week's outstanding recipients! Kaelynn Fairclough (5th Grade) - Nominated by Danielle Alder

For my final Brave-O, I would like to choose someone who I am honestly shocked hasn't earned one already. Kaelynn Fairclough is an amazing student. She works hard in every class, she is a good friend to everyone, and she shows up everyday with a smile on her face. She is one of the kindest people I have ever taught. I am proud to award my final Brave-O to you, Kaelynn. Keep it up, and you will do incredible things.

Bruno Torres (6th Grade) - Nominated by Grady Wilson

It is with great pride that I nominate Bruno Torres for my final Brave-O of the year. In my math class this year, he has been an exceptional student, one of the hardest working students, and he is extremely bright in math while also being one of my most improved students. To top it off, when we received a new to us student in Homeroom, he made him feel welcome while helping him regain his confidence and hapinness at school.

Aston Turner (7th Grade) - Nominated by Rex Swift & Lisa Condra

This student is receiving the Brave-O award for his grit and determination on the field and in the classroom. He has always given 100% on his math work and is the first to help his fellow classmates. Even though he can't shoot a paper ball into a trash can, he can always be counted on! Thank you Ashton Turner for all you do and keep up the great work.

Dmitiry Frizzell (8th Grade) - (Related Arts) Nominated by Amy Owens

When determining the last Brave-O of the year, I wanted to showcase a student who was an active member of the SCMS community. Dmitiry Frizzell is a member of the Pep and Marching Band. He is always willing to step up when his teachers need help. He constantly keeps me on my toes with his ability to complete assignments in a short time, and never complains when I give him additional work to challenge himself. Dmitry, I can't wait to see you excel at high school.

MJ Stephenson (8th Grade) - (Related Arts) Nominated by The RTI Team

We would like to recognize 8th grader MJ Stephenson as this week's Brave-O Award recipient! MJ consistently shows a kind heart, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic. Throughout the year in RTI, he has worked incredibly hard and demonstrated determination every step of the way. His benchmark scores reflect outstanding growth and impressive progress, and we are so proud of all he has accomplished. Keep u pthe amazing work, MJ!

Paisley Howard (8th Grade) - (Related Arts) Nominated by Kim McGlothen

This week, we are excited to recognize Paisely Howard as this week's 8th grade Brave-O. Paisley is a quiet, hardworking student who consistently shows responsibility, kindness, and respect every day at school.

In the classroom, she is focused, attentive, and always follows directions. Teachers appreciate her positive attitude and the effort she puts into her work. Even though she is quiet, her actions speak loudly through her dedication and dependable behavior.

She is also a talented soccer player who demonstrates teamwork and determination both on and off the field. Her commitment to balancing school and sports is something to be admired.

One of her greatest strengths is the strong friendships she has built with those around her. She is a loyal and caring friend who gets along well with classmates staff, and teachers. Her close friends value her kindness, trustworthiness, and supportive personality.

Congratulations to our Brave-O of the week, Paisley Howard! Your quiet confidence, strong character, and positive example make a difference in our school each day. We are proud of you and all you accomplish!
