Bullying Prevention & Student Mental Health

Our schools are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment for all students. Bullying and cyberbullying can have serious impacts on student well-being, including emotional, social, and academic challenges. Preventing bullying and supporting student mental health are shared responsibilities among schools, families, and the broader community.

To support this work, we are providing an informational resource developed by SchoolSafety.gov that outlines the mental health impacts of bullying/cyberbullying and offers practical strategies for prevention and response in K-12 schools.

Resource for Families, Students, and Staff

Addressing the Mental Health Impacts of Bullying and Cyberbullying

This resource includes:

  • An overview of bullying and cyberbullying and their effects on student mental health
  • Guidance on preventing bullying in school settings
  • Strategies for supporting students who are bullied, those who bully others, and bystanders
  • Links to additional mental health and bullying prevention resources

We encourage families, students, and staff to review this information and to reach out to school counselors or administrators if there are concerns about bullying or student well-being.
