Mrs. Linda Pittman Tate represents the 7th District of the Sequatchie School Board in Sequatchie County. She is the daughter of Lt. H.B. and Ruth Farmer Pittman and is married to M.L Tate. She worked at Sequatchie County Bank for 25 years before becoming the Administrator of Elections for Sequatchie County in 1997.  
Mrs. Tate is a native and life-long resident of Sequatchie County. She attended Dunlap Elementary and Sequatchie County High School. Mrs. Tate graduated from Chattanooga State Technical Community College, magna cum laude in 1994. She was involved with the Town-Lift in the late 1970's and early 1980's as well as the start of Harris Park. In grammar and high school, she was a member of the band and spent many years as a member of the Alumni-Community Band. She is a member of the Dunlap United Methodist Church and is a member of Cherokee Chapter #301, Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Tate serves as secretary of the Tropic Lightning Heritage Society(the auxiliary for the 25th Infantry Division Association of which her husband belongs). 
Mrs. Tate retired in 2014 and enjoys traveling, gardening, and spending time with her husband and family, Tim, Jeri, and Alex Harris. She said, " I love retirement which gives me time to cook, can, and crochet. And I love this home. It is truly the most beautiful place in the world with wonderful friends and family. I also enjoy learning more about the history of our great nation and our valley. I believe education is the key to our future. But we must have a dose of common sense with it."
